About the Company This developer is behind some of the most high-profile student accommodation and hotel schemes in the UK. With projects spanning land acquisition, funding, design, construction and eventual disposal or operation, they bring an end-to-end approach to development. Known for their agile, supportive and fast-moving environment, they’re looking to add a Senior Quantity Surveyor to their high-performing commercial team. About the Role You’ll be joining a tight-knit commercial function, supporting a Director overseeing multiple projects. While there’s an assistant in place to support, the Senior QS will be expected to drive their own projects forward, especially in pre-construction. This is a broad role offering excellent exposure to the full lifecycle of development, making it ideal for someone who wants to evolve towards a Development Manager role over time. Duties and Responsibilities Lead cost planning and commercial strategy from acquisition through to delivery Manage and report across multiple projects – both hotels and PBSA schemes Own and deliver pre-construction activities across a varied portfolio Develop and amend procurement strategies as projects evolve Coordinate closely with internal development and delivery teams Support the wider business on ad hoc project needs as required Provide input and oversight to the Assistant QS on project delivery Report directly to a senior figure and operate with autonomy and trust Requirements Proven experience in a similar developer-side or client-side QS role Pre-construction and cost planning experience is essential Exposure to PBSA, hotels or mixed-use schemes is highly beneficial Previous background with developers or client side preferred Strong initiative, resilience and ability to manage own workload Capable of supporting and mentoring junior staff Organised, process-driven, and commercially astute Experience across full development lifecycle is a major advantage Benefits up to £85,000 basic salary (DOE) Discretionary bonus of up to 20% Generous annual leave allowance Private medical insurance (Vitality – includes discounted gym membership) Pension High level of autonomy and a clear path into Development Management Office based in the West End, City of Westminster Flexible, trusting culture with occasional WFH as needed This is a rare opportunity to step out of the traditional QS silo and into a broader, more strategic development role.
