Job Description:
Your impact
At the forefront of aerospace innovation, our Transmissions Engineering department designs, analyses, and supports the transmission systems that power the world’s most advanced helicopters, tilt-rotors, and unmanned aircraft.
We’re looking for a Transmissions Analyst to bring technical insight, analytical skill, and a passion for engineering excellence to projects that will define the next generation of vertical lift technology.
This role blends hands-on technical work with collaboration across Integrated Project Teams (IPTs), ensuring designs meet the highest aerospace standards while remaining production-ready and cost-effective.
You’ll be responsible for ensuring the safety, reliability, and performance of transmission systems across their entire lifecycle — from concept through manufacturing, qualification, and operational service. Working on components like gears, shafts, bearings, couplings, and casings, you’ll apply your expertise to structural integrity, fatigue life, and maintainability.
What you will do as a Transmissions Analyst:
1. Perform structural, stress, and fatigue analysis for transmission components and assemblies for mission-critical gears, shafts, bearings, and casings
2. Optimise designs using FEA tools
3. Troubleshoot in-service reliability and performance issues with root cause analysis and robust engineering solutions
4. Support airworthiness compliance to EASA, MAA, and FAA regulations
5. Contribute to innovation — from new design concepts to cost and weight savings
6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on cutting-edge aerospace projects
(For internal applicants only, this is up to a Job Family Framework Level 6 (Engineering) dependent on experience)
What you’ll bring
7. Degree (or equivalent experience) in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
8. Knowledge of rotating mechanical systems and their components
9. Proficiency in FEA with strong analytical skills
10. Familiarity with CAD software (CATIA V5)
11. Understanding of airworthiness, safety, and certification requirements
12. Problem-solving mindset and drive for continuous improvement
This is not an exhaustive list, and we are keen to hear from you even if you might not have experience in all the above. The most important skill is a good attitude and willingness to learn.
