ABC Teachers are seeking people to support students in school with complex care needs, around the Coventry area.
Complex care schools represent a specialized sector within the educational landscape, catering to students with multifaceted and often profound needs. These schools serve individuals who require extensive support due to physical disabilities, cognitive impairments, or medical complexities. Unlike traditional schools, complex care schools are equipped with expertise and resources to support a wide range of conditions and learning styles. They offer a holistic approach, integrating academic instruction with therapeutic interventions, medical care, and life skills training. Complex care schools provide a nurturing and inclusive environment where students can learn, grow, and achieve their full potential, supported by dedicated educators, therapists, and staff members who are committed to their success.
ABC Teachers work with a number of schools across Coventry who cater to students with Complex Care needs. These schools vary in ages, with some specializing in primary school students and some gearing towards the secondary school students. These students are often in wheelchairs with limited mobility and limb function, so the role would involve personal care support.
As part of your responsibilities, you will be tasked with providing personal care, assisting with educational activities, and supporting the overall well-being of students with Complex Care Needs. Collaborating closely with staff within the school, you'll ensure that students educational, social, emotional, physical and mental health needs are met.
The desired Care Assistant will possess:
- Experience in providing personal care and supporting students with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), preferably in a school setting.
- A DBS Check, or readiness to undergo a DBS check.
- A compassionate and patient approach towards supporting students with complex needs.
- Dedication and commitment to fostering student well-being and progress.
- Strong adaptability skills to cater to varying student needs and learning styles.
- A proactive stance towards their profession and responsibilities.
