We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to join our busy, well-established urology team at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital.

As an Advanced Nurse Practitioner in this speciality, the post holder will be working alongside a team of urology clinicians to support the service in triaging and accepting referrals from both primary and secondary care, utilising and developing urology pathways to enhance both the patient experience, and flow throughout the service.

The post holder will be responsible for undertaking a thorough clinical assessment, have the ability to identify and request appropriate investigations to reach a diagnosis and be confident in initiating a treatment pathway individual to the patients\' needs. This may be as an inpatient within the acute setting or on an outpatient basis by following the local ambulatory care pathways and/or the newly developed virtual review ward. Further input for service development is always encouraged.

Main duties of the job

Clinical skills such as venepuncture, cannulation, catheterization and obtaining arterial blood gases are common practice, and therefore, demonstrating these skills are key to fulfilling the role. Importantly, the post holder must be able to identify a deteriorating patient and act swiftly to stabilize them and manage well in an emergency with the appropriate support.

The post holder will be required to support the junior doctor team in documenting in patients\' medical records and undertaking tasks that have been requested as part of the patient review. Having the ability to prioritise and delegate tasks will reflect in the post holder\'s strong leadership skills.

As an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, the post holder must be able to work autonomously and provide a high quality, safe and supportive clinical service, whilst maintaining the standards as outlined in the multi-professional framework for advanced clinical practice in England.

A professional portfolio evidencing the four pillars of advanced clinical practice should be demonstrated and further developed with progression whilst in the role.
