This is an exciting opportunity to join our Maintenance team, which plays a critical role in supporting our operations in the Southern North Sea. The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for providing discipline-specific support to ensure the reliability, availability, and operability of a wide range of mechanical equipment. This includes static equipment such as piping, valves, filters, vessels, pumps, reciprocating engines, compressors, and Gas and diesel engine-driven generators.
Within the regulatory framework and engineering standards, the engineer will help keep mechanical equipment operational, fuel-efficient, and in optimal condition with minimal unplanned interventions.
This role is based in our Norwich office, Monday to Friday, with periodic travel to other Perenco assets as required.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide mechanical engineering support to departments including Operations, Maintenance, Projects, Metering, and Integrity.
2. Support during operational shutdowns and outages.
3. Improve equipment performance, identify opportunities, plan, assess risks, and implement cost-effective improvements; conduct root cause analysis and coordinate maintenance activities.
4. Contribute to PUK maintenance strategy and policies, including routines and procedures.
5. Monitor maintenance effectiveness, reduce backlogs, and review processes.
6. Specify, analyze, and procure replacement equipment, ensuring compliance with specifications and legislation.
7. Complete documentation, work planning, change management, and database updates.
8. Manage costs, control spends, and promote value from suppliers and contractors.
9. Utilize electronic maintenance systems such as Maximo.
10. Conduct Site Assurance Surveys at onshore and offshore sites.
11. Provide technical training and guidance to technicians and new recruits.

Requirements
* Engineering degree or HNC/HND with 8-10 years' experience in oil and gas or regulated industries.
* Operational knowledge of mechanical equipment and maintenance planning.
* Ability to advise management on equipment health and costs.
* Team-oriented, diligent, and adaptable to change.
* Understanding of hazardous area equipment specifications and Management of Change processes.
