Our Development Engineering team is a global team focused on delivering robust, repeatable solutions for our customers. The Test Engineering Technologist plays a critical role within the Innovation and Sustainability Team, translating physical testing results into component and system designs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
* Plan, execute, analyze and lead system‑level and part‑quality testing for new product development initiatives.
* Support testing of new applications/materials (e.g., BioResins, rPET, multilayer PET & packaging, medical).
* Contribute to process guidelines and best practices, and assist with pass/fail criteria for new applications.
* Participate in upfront risk identification via FMEA or similar.
* Review test plans and improve data reliability.
* Challenge design performance and robustness, identifying issues and improvement opportunities up to system level.
* Support customer startups/early adopters through system buy‑off/acceptance and product launch team support.
REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION
* BS in Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or Polymer Science (preferred).
EXPERIENCE
* 5+ years of experience testing and troubleshooting complex mechanical systems.
* 5+ years working in cross‑functional project teams with internal and external customers.
* 5+ years experience with plastic processing/part‑quality optimization; medical molding experience preferred. Experience with PET preforms, closures and packaging is beneficial.
* Excellent understanding of fluid power and electrical schematics.
* Experience with data analysis and technical reporting.
* Hands‑on experience operating injection molding machines.
* Knowledge of instrumentation setup and data acquisition for sensors (pressure transducers, flow meters, thermocouples, thermal cameras, etc.).
QUALIFICATIONS
* Strong organizational skills.
* Demonstrated knowledge of plastics processing for medical applications, thin‑wall packaging, PET, closures.
* Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical and fluid power systems.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Ability to balance multiple initiatives with unique schedules and needs.
* Superb analytical and problem‑solving skills.
* Fundamental system understanding of injection molding and plastic resin families.
