The Impact you will have:
Responsibility for the production and external audit activity of the Group's (UK & Republic of Ireland) consolidated statutory accounts (ensuring compliance with both UKGAAP and USGAAP reporting frameworks), and those of all UK subsidiary companies. This includes, playing a leading role in the efficient management of the Group entity structure
Responsibility for the Group's internal financial reporting framework, including reporting to the Sammons parent company, ensuring appropriate controls are in place at both a Group and subsidiary company level
Ensure that robust technical financial reporting and documentation is in place across the Group, in line with appropriate policies and accounting standards: including taking responsibility for setting, maintaining and communicating technical accounting policies across the Group businesses in line with GAAP standards and best practice
Link into the day-to-day relationship with the parent company finance technical team, ensuring that the UK/ROI Group's accounting practice and material decisions/treatments are understood and approved, and that the UK/ROI Group's accounting practices reflect the parent company's current guidance & governance. This includes responsibility for all financial reporting to the parent company within required deadlines
Provide ongoing technical finance leadership and training across the Group's finance community, monitor the professional compliance of qualified finance staff and champion in-role development (e.g. CPDs)
Use of technology to underpin new standards i.e. visual lease, IFS etc.
What will help you to excel in this role:
ACA\ACCA Qualified Accountant – Practice Trained
Extensive financial accounting experience to trial balance and management accounts level.
Ideal treasury experience
Extensive Excel experience
Extensive of finance systems
understanding of Processes / Accounting Principles
Substantial experience of working in a busy finance environment
Extensive diligent, accurate and high level attention to detail skills
