Role Overview: Responsible for the production of programmes for the Design, Procurement, Construction, Installation & Commissioning activities for each project from inception, feasibility, tender, and bid phases through to completion. Liaises with construction and site personnel to update programmes, reviews progress regularly, and produces management insights and reports. Project types range from large EHV cabling and substation construction to new energy low carbon build projects.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Analyze and evaluate project tender and bid documents to build detailed programmes specifying cost, time, and resource requirements (NEC or other contract types).
2. Coordinate with tender and bid teams during the tender process and incorporate their input into planning activities.
3. Develop tender and bid programmes into construction programmes based on 1st principles.
4. Produce and update programmes throughout the project lifecycle.
5. Implement change control processes, including early warnings, compensation events, and instructions from project managers, while assessing their impact on programmes and reporting back.
6. Coordinate inputs and outputs into/from the programme from the construction team, taking the lead on programme development and updates.
7. Review construction progress with input from the team, update programmes, and produce MI/MO reports as needed.
8. Create earned value/project reporting, including resource and cost loading, CPI, and SPI metrics.
9. Identify concerns regarding construction progress, review risks, and suggest mitigation measures with relevant teams.
10. Assist the Project Manager with planning-related matters as directed.
11. Participate in meetings with project teams and clients.
12. Engage with clients' planners, construction managers, and project managers as necessary.
13. Visit sites regularly to support planning activities.
14. Compile progress information and produce progress reports.
15. Ensure company-wide adherence to planning techniques.
16. Manage and supervise other planners as directed by the Planning Manager.
17. Mandatory: Primavera P6 Experienced Practitioner.
18. Mandatory: Experience with NEC Form of Contracts.
19. Desirable: Knowledge of FIDIC & JCT Contracts.
20. HNC or equivalent in construction-related field.
21. Practical knowledge of project controls, planning, and construction activities.
22. Proficiency in planning and control tools, including Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6.
23. Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card - Visitor - Yellow (can be obtained).
24. Stay updated with new technology and software developments.
25. Valid driving license.
26. Potential for flexible working arrangements and location.
