Job Description
As part of the Facilities Team, you will help to manage Health and Safety measures across the campus, ensuring all site activities are compliant with legislation. You will support planned maintenance and compliance related checks, delivering on a wide variety of tasks including carpentry tasks, electrical support, plumbing, landscaping, mechanical, joinery, decorating and furnishing.
With a role this varied, safety is of particularly critical, so we’re always working to develop a safety culture. Our team take pride in their professionalism and attention to detail and finish of their work.
Flexible working (within reason) is required for some production schedules, so the post may involve some "out of hours" working. This job is a full-time on-site position.
The role is client-facing and you’ll be playing a critical role in ensuring clients have the best possible experience at Garden Studios. There will be opportunities to learn and develop additional trade skills. Your Key Responsibilities
* Ensuring the studio premises and surrounding areas are always functional, well maintained, safe, tidy and welcoming.
* Conducting general maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, replacing plug sockets and light switches.
* Performing plumbing repairs, painting, basic carpentry works, routine health and safety checks to ensure that fire alarms, fire extinguishers and other safety equipment is in.
* Preparing and supporting studio spaces for clients and productions by fixing/organising/moving furniture, equipment and waste as necessary.
* Working as an individual and as part of the team to help solve problems for clients which can be wide ranging and at times immediate.
* Being a helpful and thoughtful self starter, taking the initiative to help colleagues and clients wherever possible.
* Reporting any defects to the Maintenance Supervisor and logging them on helpdesk.
* Keeping others informed of information that contributes to the performance of the team, department or company.
* Contributing to the general running and maintenance of the studio complex as needed.
* Supporting contractors when on site completing work.
Critical Requirements
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a trade (carpentry/joinery preferred). Experience working within Film, TV, Hospitality, or Event Management would be advantageous.
* You are a true professional who takes pride in their work and have the ability to work well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment independently with minimal supervision and can demonstrate strong practical problem-solving skills.
* You can work well as part of a diverse team to achieve client and business needs.
* You have strong communication and customer service skills with a good level of English.
* You posess a strong understanding of general building works and can complete minor repairs to windows, radiators, lights, taps, walls, floors, etc. as directed.
* You can demonstrate strong joinery skills with maintenance of fixtures and fittings.
* You have experience maintaining gutters, downpipes and drains and as well as completing minor roof repairs.
* Experience of monitoring and adjusting HVAC installations.
* You can complete basic plumbing tasks including un-blocking sinks, traps and waste pipes and can do adjustments to washers and taps.
* You have experience working on projects that have a sustainable element and can demonstrate knowledge of reusing/repurposing materials.
* A full and clean UK driving licence would be advantageous in this role.
