About the Role
• Take responsibility for a happy and motivated Year 1 class, supporting pupils as they transition into KS1.
• Plan and deliver creative, well-differentiated lessons aligned with the Year 1 National Curriculum.
• Provide high-quality teaching across phonics, reading, writing, and mathematics.
• Support pupils in developing strong foundations in early literacy and numeracy.
• Promote positive behaviour and maintain a calm, nurturing classroom environment.
• Assess and track pupil progress, using data to inform planning and targeted interventions.
• Build strong relationships with pupils, colleagues, and parents.
• Contribute positively to the wider school community and collaborative staff culture.
What We’re Looking For
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Experience teaching within KS1 (Year 1 experience is desirable).
• Strong knowledge of the Year 1 curriculum, including phonics screening requirements.
• Excellent organisational, communication, and behaviour management skills.
• A positive, proactive approach and genuine enthusiasm for supporting young learners.
• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
