We’re hiring a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design and development of next-generation electrical power testing equipment — delivering products that meet the highest standards of performance, safety, and compliance. As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in the New Product Development (NPD) team, taking products from concept to reality. You’ll work closely with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure designs meet market needs, regulatory requirements, and manufacturing standards. Job Responsibilities Lead the creation of electrical designs using suitable analysis tools and CAD software Develop electrical drawings, models, schematics, and technical specifications Define and manage product FMEA, validation, and testing programmes Ensure system integration, manufacturability (DFM), and performance targets are met Prepare engineering technical documentation, including BOMs, test reports, and customer-supporting materials Participate in voice of customer (VOC) exercises to gather market requirements Identify and implement new technologies and improvements for future products Drive system and process improvements to enhance department and business efficiency Ensure product safety and compliance with relevant codes and standards (e.g., CE, UL, CSA) Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure design intent is delivered on time and to cost Skills and Experience Degree (BSc/BEng) in Electrical Engineering or equivalent 5 years’ experience in an NPD role, ideally within electrical equipment manufacturing Proficient in AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks Electrical; strong Microsoft 365 skills Understanding of HV, MV, and LV circuits; experience with generators, transformers, or power transmission systems beneficial Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and adaptability skills Excellent verbal and written communication, comfortable presenting and collaborating across teams Professional Engineering (PE) status (desirable but not essential) Pay and Benefits Up to £75,000 per year Company pension scheme Comprehensive training and development opportunities Career progression within a globally recognised engineering leader This Senior Electrical Engineer role offers the chance to lead cutting-edge product development, drive innovation, and help shape the next generation of electrical power testing solutions.
