We are currently seeking a resilient and adaptable Cover Supervisor to work at a welcoming SEN school in Oldham. This role will involve supervising classes and delivering pre-set work, primarily supporting students with special educational needs and moderate behavioural challenges, across lower-level GCSE lessons.
Role Details:
* Position: Cover Supervisor
* Location: Oldham, Greater Manchester
* Start Date: ASAP
* Contract Type: Full-time, long-term (potential for permanent placement)
* Salary: Competitive, based on experience
Key Responsibilities:
* Supervising and delivering pre-prepared lessons across a range of subjects, mainly supporting lower-level GCSE students.
* Managing classroom behaviour and promoting a positive, inclusive learning environment.
* Supporting students with a range of needs, including communication difficulties, SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs, and mild behavioural challenges.
* Working collaboratively with teaching staff and support teams to provide consistency and stability for students.
* Maintaining accurate records of student participation, engagement, and any behavioural incidents.
Requirements:
* Experience working with young people, preferably in a SEN, mainstream, or alternative education setting.
* Ability to manage behaviour positively and calmly.
* Flexibility to cover a range of subjects at lower GCSE entry levels.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* A genuine passion for supporting the development of young people with additional needs.
