About us
* We serve pupils aged 7–16, all referred through an admissions panel, aiming to help students return to mainstream school.
* Our offer includes 2 classes at Key Stage 2 (National Curriculum with enhanced social learning in small supportive groups) and 3 secondary classes (KS3 focusing on key skills for reintegration; KS4 with GCSE programme and mentoring)
The role – Teaching Assistant
As a Teaching Assistant you will:
* Work closely with class teachers to support pupils’ learning, in small-group and individual settings, ensuring access to the curriculum and helping them to engage with learning.
* Support pupils who may have complex needs (medical referral, EHCP, social/emotional needs) in a sensitive and inclusive way.
* Provide encouragement, guidance and support for social and emotional development, helping pupils build confidence, resilience and key skills for reintegration.
* Support the maintenance of a safe, positive learning environment.
* Presence at break/lunch supervision, support transitions, and encourage pupil wellbeing throughout the day.
We are looking for someone who:
* Is enthusiastic, patient, and committed to enabling children and young people with additional needs to thrive.
* Has experience of supporting pupils in a school environment, preferably with some experience of additional needs and differentiated learning. We can also consider those with a background in youth work or sports coaching.
* Possesses good interpersonal skills, strong communication (with children and adults), and a team-player mindset.
* Is organised, dependable, and flexible – able to adapt to the varied demands of a specialist setting.
* Is committed to safeguarding, upholding the highest standards of pupil welfare, and working within school policies and practices.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
