Our Tesco Colleague rate of pay starts from £12.45 an hour; this increases to £13.66 for stores within the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.
It is our policy to offer new colleagues joining us a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, but if you would like to work fewer hours (to a minimum of 12) we have opportunities for this too.
The role includes availability windows and scheduling contracted hours with 3 weeks’ notice. We support flexibility where possible.
Customers are at the heart of everything we do. This is a role for doers with variety and everyday challenges.
Responsibilities
* Know your customers and serve them with passion and pride; provide great natural service
* Be passionate and knowledgeable about store products and services
* Work across the store in service, picking and replenishment areas as required
* Apply training to work safely, effectively and serve customers brilliantly
* Make decisions right for customers and deliver store routines that meet needs
* Participate in seasonal, community and charity events and create an inclusive atmosphere
* Understand store performance and contribute to driving service, sales and profit
* Handle products with care to maintain quality and ensure they reach customers in good condition
* Be yourself, live Tesco values, and follow policies
* May be required to accept deliveries into the store
You will need
* A passion for delivering great service and greeting customers with a smile
* The ability to build rapport with customers and enhance their shopping trip
* Take initiative and make decisions in customers’ interests
* Work well within a team and communicate openly
* Build relationships with colleagues to create a team spirit
