Role: Transport Manager (Bulk)
Salary: £50,000 + 9% Bonus

The Opportunity:
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Transport Manager to take the lead in managing and developing a high-performing team within a busy bulk logistics operation. As a Transport Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of bulk products across your region, while driving continuous improvement in performance, cost control, and customer service. This role is ideal for a Transport Manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about safety, leadership, and operational excellence.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Managing a team of around 20–30 drivers, ensuring all delivery operations run safely, efficiently, and in line with key service indicators (KSIs).
* Overseeing all aspects of transport operations, including scheduling, compliance, fleet maintenance, and driver performance.
* Monitoring transport costs and budgets, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions to achieve financial and operational targets.
* Liaising daily with production, supply, planning, and workshop teams to ensure product availability, driver coverage, and vehicle readiness.
* Ensuring compliance with legal requirements, operator’s licence obligations, and company safety policies, including training, incident investigation, and risk assessments.
* Leading driver engagement and safety initiatives to promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
* Conducting performance reviews, managing disciplinary processes where required, and supporting driver development through training and coaching.
* Managing administrative duties such as absence tracking, shift scheduling, reporting, and maintaining accurate operational records.
What We Expect From You
* Proven experience in transport or logistics management within a large-scale or multi-site operation.
* Strong leadership and people-management skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
* Excellent understanding of transport legislation, compliance, and safety procedures.
* Financial and analytical acumen, with the ability to manage budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities.
* Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with a proactive and adaptable approach.
* Proficiency in IT systems (SAP or similar transport systems preferred).
* CPC qualification (essential – or willingness to obtain).
* ADR licence (advantageous) and NEBOSH certificate (desirable).
