Our client is a specialist engineering manufacturer delivering advanced composite solutions from concept through to finished product. They support a range of high-performance sectors including motorsport, aerospace, satellite communications, automotive, space and EV industries.
The Role
As a CAM Engineer, you will support the engineering and manufacturing teams by developing CNC programmes, improving machining processes and ensuring production schedules are delivered on time and to the required quality standards.
* Provide technical support across the department
* Identify technical issues early and implement effective solutions
* Deliver production schedules on time, in full and to required quality standards
* Support and maintain the Quality Management System including Standard Operating Procedures
* Ensure compliance with quality systems and customer specifications
* Maintain product quality and escalate any concerns
* Identify and implement improvements to efficiency and productivity
* Maintain high standards of housekeeping and organisation within the department
CNC Programming Responsibilities
* Develop, optimise and maintain CNC programmes and toolpaths for high precision tooling
* Select appropriate tooling, holders and machines before programming
* Set, operate and programme multi axis CNC machines using both online and offline software
* Work closely with machinists to resolve machining challenges and support production
* Maintain programme documentation and revision control
* Support quotations by providing lead time and cost estimates
* Contribute to continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the team
About You
* Strong experience setting, operating and programming multi axis CNC machines
* Experience using CAD CAM software such as HyperMill or similar
* Knowledge of CNC tooling, workholding and fixturing
* Experience working with 3D modelling
* Mechanical engineering background with experience in high tolerance machining
* Experience within aerospace, defence, motorsport, automotive or other precision engineering sectors desirable
* Knowledge of ISO9001 and ISO14001 quality systems beneficial
* Strong attention to detail and structured approach to work
