Are you looking for a new care and support opportunity? If you are passionate about making a real difference by supporting young people, we would love to hear from you!
We have support assistant roles in our Ingram Court supported housing service for young people aged 16 to 22 in central Croydon. These roles build on customer care, health and safety, flexibility, adaptability, and supporting young people on their path to independence.
Our 44-bed service is conveniently located in central Croydon, close to West Croydon station/tram stop, offering excellent transport links across London and beyond. Some parking is available on site for colleagues on a first-come, first-served basis.
Our customers have a range of support needs, such as mental health issues, care leaver status, probation, ex-offending, domestic violence, learning disabilities, and asylum seeking.
You will join a lively, supportive, and friendly team to work together to provide excellent service for our young people.
Our Support Assistants have a smaller customer caseload and focus more on group activities. A key part of the role is enabling customers to access support from other agencies, so you will need to network and build relationships with other organizations. You need knowledge of safeguarding and understanding of how it applies in day-to-day work, as well as awareness of why people become homeless.
The role involves:
1. Identifying clients' strengths as part of our asset-based approach and recognizing their needs, opportunities, rights, and responsibilities to facilitate their move to independent living.
2. Planning and setting targets to achieve goals, and taking appropriate actions to meet their aspirations.
3. Participating in activities and providing opportunities that generate aspiration and confidence.
Involve evolving Housing + Support as an equal opportunities employer, encouraging applications from all community sections, including those who have experienced homelessness. We prioritize equality, diversity, and inclusion in our recruitment practices, actively seeking applications regardless of race, religion or belief, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, or disability.
You must have the legal right to work in the UK, as Evolve does not hold a sponsorship license.
Please clearly outline in your application how your experience and skills meet the criteria for this role, referencing the job description and person specification.
You need to be able to work shifts on a pre-planned rolling rota, 5 days a week including mornings (from 7 am), evenings (until 10 pm), mid-shifts, and weekends.
In return, we offer:
* Over 6 weeks holiday per year (increasing with service)
* Option to buy or sell additional holiday weeks annually
* Employer contributory pension scheme
* 4x Life Assurance
* Medical Cash Back Plan
* Yulife Employee Assistance & Rewards Programme
