We’re working with a well-established building services consultancy that specialises in low-carbon design for commercial, industrial, and public-sector buildings. With a strong reputation for delivering sustainable, energy-efficient systems, they are now seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to lead key HVAC projects across the UK. In this role, you’ll take ownership of mechanical design packages from early-stage concept through to final commissioning. You’ll work closely with clients, contribute to technical development, and lead the design and delivery of high-performing, low-carbon systems. Key Responsibilities: Lead the design of low-carbon HVAC systems, including heat pumps, VRF/VRV, and solar thermal Develop detailed technical specifications, performance briefs, and design calculations Manage projects through the full lifecycle, from concept to installation and commissioning Oversee tender processes and evaluate contractor submissions Provide technical guidance and client-facing support across sustainability and compliance goals Ensure installations meet regulatory standards and design intent on-site Key Requirements: Degree, HND or HNC in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering Chartered or Incorporated Engineer (CEng or IEng), or actively working towards Proficiency in Hevacomp, IES VE, DesignBuilder, Revit MEP or AutoCAD Strong understanding of CIBSE Guides, Part L and relevant UK building standards Excellent communication and project leadership skills This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected consultancy delivering meaningful work in decarbonisation and building performance.
