This role focuses on providing one-to-one support for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and complex needs. Responsibilities of the Autism Teaching Assistant (TA) Provide 1:1 support to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), using a child-centred approach. Assist with day-to-day classroom activities, ensuring the individual needs of the student are met. Implement strategies to support the student's learning, communication, and social development. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create a supportive learning environment. Adapt resources and teaching methods to suit the needs of the student. Promote resilience and independence in students through encouragement and proactive support. Requirements of the Autism Teaching Assistant (TA) Previous experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and complex needs. Strong understanding of child-centred approaches to education and care. Work on a 1:1 basis to meet the specific needs of individual students. Ability to remain calm and adaptable in a fast-paced environment. A proactive and resilient mindset to support students effectively.
