We are now looking for an Infra Architect to join our talented Solution Delivery team with responsibility for leading the technical BAU operations.
This role aims to stabilize and improve our infrastructure and working practices across hundreds of our plant and office locations.
Key responsibilities for this role include:
● Ensuring 24X7 availability of Enterprise services across multiple time zones for the BMI Group
● Providing key leadership and delivery in the organization's technology future
● Managing the activities of Enterprise vendors and partners to ensure exceptional quality and service delivery
● Administering the Enterprise services operational budget in adherence to BMI Group standards
● Determining and measuring metrics to ascertain quality and performance
Design & Strategy: Developing comprehensive architectural blueprints for hybrid cloud and on-premise environments.
Scalability & Performance: Ensuring system capacity for growth through the implementation of load balancing, auto-scaling, and high-availability protocols.
Security Integration: Collaborating with Cybersecurity teams to incorporate "Security by Design" principles into every layer of the infrastructure.
Automation (IaC): Championing the adoption of Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) to eliminate manual configuration and mitigate human error.
Governance: Defining standards, best practices, and roadmaps for hardware, software, and network services.
Cost Management: Optimizing cloud expenditure and resource allocation to ensure maximum Return on Investment (ROI) from technology investments.
What you can bring:
Required Technical Skills:
1. Cloud & Infrastructure Expertise (10+ years IT experience, 3+ years in Lead/Architect role):
Cloud Platforms: Expert proficiency in either Azure or GCP.
Core Infrastructure: Deep understanding of Virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), Containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and Storage (SAN/NAS).
Networking: Strong command of TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, Firewalls, and SD-WAN technologies.
Automation: Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
Required Soft Skills:
2. Communication: Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
3. Mentorship: Proven ability to guide and mentor junior engineering staff.
