Overview
Are you a qualified accountant with a passion for financial reporting and technical excellence? Haven is looking for an accomplished External Reporting & Treasury Accountant to join our Finance team. This is a key role within the Group, taking ownership of statutory reporting, investor and lender communications, and treasury operations. You'll be responsible for preparing year‑end statutory accounts, quarterly investor and bank reporting, and ensuring the business adopts the required accounting standards and controls. With a strong technical focus on FRS 102, you’ll also play a central role in the audit process and the day‑to‑day management of Haven's treasury activities, including banking, payments and debt management. This is a hands‑ on, technically demanding role suited to a detail‑oriented finance professional who thrives on accuracy, enjoys navigating complex regulatory environments and wants to make a genuine impact across the business.
Responsibilities
* Prepare the monthly and annual Group consolidation and consolidated accounts, along with all subsidiary statutory accounts.
* Act as a key link between external auditors and internal finance teams throughout the year‑end audit process.
* Communicate financial accounting standards and controls to internal and external stakeholders, including executives, investors and regulatory bodies.
* Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions in accordance with accounting principles and standards.
* Prepare FCA reports on the regulated parts of the business.
* Develop and update financial policies in line with industry best practice, working closely with the Finance Manager – External Reporting & Treasury.
* Maintain and continually improve the Group Policies, Procedures and Accounting Manual.
* Propose the accounting treatment for new acquisitions, including fair value adjustments and integration planning.
* Support treasury and banking activities, including management of banking platforms, payments, receipts and the Haven debt stack.
* Prepare quarterly bank and investor reporting in compliance with lending and banking agreements.
Qualifications
* ACA qualified with experience at a top 4 accounting firm.
* Strong background in financial reporting, including preparation of financial statements and compliance with accounting standards.
* Comprehensive understanding of financial principles, accounting standards (such as GAAP or IFRS) and financial reporting requirements.
* Knowledge and experience of banking and treasury operations.
* Key attention to detail and accuracy, with all reporting backed by thorough reconciliations and checks.
* Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to diverse stakeholders.
* Problem‑solving abilities to address complex financial challenges.
* A proactive approach to identifying areas of weakness and implementing solutions.
* Acts with integrity and transparency, adhering to high ethical and professional standards.
* Experience in hospitality or multi‑site businesses (advantageous).
