Projects Team Leader – Steam Boilers

ABOUT THE ROLE
A well-established industrial equipment business is looking for an experienced Boiler Projects Manager to lead the delivery of rental steam solutions across the UK and Ireland. You will take ownership of projects end-to-end — from initial technical assessment and design input through to commissioning, handover, and ongoing customer support. This is a senior technical role with people management responsibility. You will lead a team of field engineers, coordinate with specialist third-party contractors, and act as the primary technical point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Take full ownership of project delivery from survey through to customer handover and aftercare
* Lead and manage a team of steam field engineers day-to-day
* Plan and oversee commissioning activities, ensuring safe and compliant handover
* Carry out technical site assessments to determine the most appropriate rental solution
* Provide technical input during the design and tendering phases
* Ensure all equipment meets relevant pressure system regulatory requirements
* Build and maintain strong customer relationships, proactively managing expectations
* Coordinate third-party contractors and suppliers throughout project execution
* Oversee spares inventory and management processes
* Work cross-functionally with internal teams to support wider business objectives
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
* Solid background in project engineering within industrial steam or pressure systems environments
* In-depth knowledge of steam boilers and associated sub-systems
* Confident reading and interpreting P&ID drawings and electrical schematics
* Working knowledge of relevant pressure system legislation and statutory compliance
* Mechanical or electrical discipline
* Familiarity with industrial burner systems is an advantage
* Relevant boiler or gas safety certifications are advantageous
