Senior Engineer - Cloud

Telent is seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer to join the Network Services division due to growth. This role offers the opportunity to work with new technologies across a range of customers in a hybrid setting, involving work from home and occasional travel to nearby offices (preferably Warwick or Camberley). The ideal candidate will have skills in On-Premises and Azure Cloud environments, with eligibility for UK Security Clearance due to the end customer's requirements.
The Senior Cloud Engineer will develop and maintain technical relationships with internal and external customers, providing proactive service and acting as a bridge between Engineering and Service Delivery, Projects, and Service Desk teams to ensure high customer satisfaction.
Joining our Engineering Team at Telent means being empowered to innovate, work with technical experts, and contribute to critical national infrastructure projects.
This role also involves supporting Professional Services and Sales opportunities, acting as a Cloud evangelist for both On-premises and Azure environments.
Senior Cloud Engineer - Responsibilities:
* Lead technical aspects within assigned customer accounts.
* Serve as an internal escalation point and mentor staff.
* Train staff and customers on On-prem and Azure solutions.
* Monitor and report on customer incidents.
* Identify trends, security threats, and technical bulletins impacting customers.
* Maintain documentation related to customer networks.
* Follow internal and external processes for tasks and changes.
* Assist with Proof of Concept, Type Approval activities, and lab testing.
* Create and review technical documentation such as High and Low-Level Designs.
* Participate in customer meetings and lead value-add projects.
* Ensure accurate timekeeping and documentation of work.
* Complete certifications and training aligned with business needs.
* Handle security and GDPR policies appropriately.
Who You Are:
* Experienced in supporting Data Centre and Cloud Infrastructure.
* Skilled in Cloud, On-prem, Azure, and related technologies.
* Committed, proactive, and collaborative.
* Customer-focused with a positive attitude.
Skills / Qualifications:
* VCIX (desirable), VCP (required), VCP 6.1 (required), MSCE: Cloud & Infrastructure, MSCE: Productivity or equivalent.
