What is an On-Call Firefighter?
On-Call Firefighters provide emergency response cover from their home or work base. To be eligible, you need to live or work close to a fire station. All applicants will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
After initial training, On-Call Firefighters attend weekly drill nights to maintain their skills, with additional training opportunities throughout the year. They also participate in community fire safety initiatives, including safe & well visits and school visits.
