Responsibilities
* Facilitating the identification and response to project risk (threats and opportunities) including reviews and workshops
* Ensuring the risk register is current and maintained
* In support of the Risk Manager, analysis of risk information using both qualitative and quantitative techniques to inform senior management of top threats and opportunities and in the assessment of exposure
* Aggregation and reporting of risks within the project
* Monitors and updates mitigation actions and effectiveness through regular reviews and monitoring
* Assists in the development of appropriate SMART risk mitigations for the project's critical risks
Project scope
Balfour Beatty VINCI is a long-established joint venture between two powerhouses for the delivery of critical infrastructure across rail, transport and other iconic projects in the UK and beyond. We started working together over 30 years ago to deliver the Channel Tunnel. In the Midlands, BBV's role is to design and build the route, ready for tracks and signalling to be installed. Our work with HS2 includes a 90km section of the HS2 project from Long Itchington in Warwickshire to the centre of Birmingham and then on to Handsacre in Staffordshire. Overall, we will be building across all sites: 9.3km of viaducts, 62 overbridges, 35 cuttings, 56 culverts, 62 embankments, 2 twin bore tunnels and 2 cut and cover tunnels, 28 underbridges and 11 underpasses.

Qualifications
* Has experience of working in a risk analyst role in a construction / civil engineering project environment (5-years)
* Has experience of QCRA tools and techniques (e.g. @Risk, ModelRisk, PRA, Safran; Monte Carlo simulation, interpretation and reporting)
* Is proficient in data management, MS Excel and PowerBI
* Pays attention to detail and will see tasks through to completion
* Has good interpersonal and communication skills
* A self-starter who can manage their own time and proactively seeks and executes activities that will add value to their function

About HS2 project context
Balfour Beatty VINCI is working with a range of organisations to design and build 90km West Midlands stretch of HS2 — Britain's new high-speed railway. Our work is essential to enable HS2 trains to travel between London and Birmingham as well as continue their journey up to Manchester. It is an incredibly exciting time to join us — we are at peak construction with work really ramping up on a broad range of assets including bridges, tunnels and viaducts. You would join 9,000 people across 72 nationalities working on this exciting section of HS2 across the region.
