Are you due to qualify this summer 2025 as a registered mental health Nurse?
We are looking for passionate newly qualified nurses to join us at Stockton Hall hospital York.
We offer a full 12 month preceptorship training package with continuedsupport.

The role of the (Registered Mental Health) Preceptor Nurse is to work as an effective member of the Multi Disciplinary team. Responsible for maintaining a safe Care Environment. Exercise professional accountabilityand responsibility using professional skills, knowledge and expertise in changing environments. To achievethe required post qualification competencies within a 12 month framework.
* Deliver prescribed care to a defined group of clients/patients within an agreed framework.
* Plan and implement a structured approach to nursing care which takes account of patient choice andwishes.
* Accurately observe and engage with patients in order to assess their needs and to evaluate progress.
* Monitor and review Nursing Care plans.
* Evaluate and respond to changes in patient condition and needs.
* Deal proactively and effectively with suggestions and complaints from patients and their families /carers.
* Contribute to a team approach to patient care in conjunction with all members of the Multi-Disciplinaryteam
* Participate in regular clinical and non-clinical meetings and attend other meetings as requested
* Prioritise nursing duties and delegate appropriately and effectively within the shift co-ordination
* Framework under the supervision of a Staff Nurse or Senior Staff Nurse.
* Maintain a continued level of personal professional development in accordance to preceptorship andrevalidation standards.
* Develops and maintains a good professional relationship with patients, colleagues and visitors respondingpromptly and courteously to requests, suggestions and enquiries.
* Helps to promote and to maintain an environment conducive to meeting the needs of the patient /relatives and carers
* Participate in clinical supervision and reflective practice at least once a month.
* Work under the supervision of a Registered Mental Health Nurse, taking charge of the ward as agreedwithin their supervision.
* Work in accordance with Safeguarding adult and children policies and requirements.
* Adhere to medicines management and policies at all times.
* Ensure the requirements of the Mental Health Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberties Standards aremet.
* Adhere to Priory Group policies and protocols and adhere to NMC Code

Stockton Hall is a highly specialist hospital where patients requiring a medium secure care setting can maximise value from therapeutic interventions. Our services have produced excellent recovery results for patients and they are able to progress to low secure or locked rehabilitation if possible.
The facility is split across seven wards as follows:
16 bedded female ward - Mental Health and Personality Disorder
16 bedded male ward - Personality Disorder
8 bedded elderly male ward - for those with a settled in presentation in need of rehabilitation for mental illness and/or personality disorders
Two 24 bedded male wards for mental health focus
