The Role:
As a Quality Technician, you will be an integral member of the team responsible for maintaining all day-to-day activities independently while proactively promoting continuous improvement.
You will report directly to the Quality Engineer and be responsible for the following:
* Completion of product inspections in line with internal and external requirements.
* Verifying product conformance using various inspection methods and techniques.
* Performing technical inspections for new/prototype parts through our NPI system.
* Providing technical support to production to maintain production, customer requirements, and standards.
You will also be responsible for resolving internal, supplier, and customer non-conformances by methodologically investigating the manufacturing process to determine the root cause.
This includes producing 8D reports and managing problems utilizing existing logs and registers.
In addition, you will assist in customer interaction through meetings, presentations, phone calls, and emails.
You will provide clear and professional internal communication of issues through the generation of reports, attending meetings, chairing quality circles, briefings, and presentations.
Design and develop process controls such as pins/jigs/templates/check sheets/SOPs/working instructions.
Contribute to continuous improvement activities utilizing methodologies such as TQM, Kaizen, 5S, and 6 Sigma.
Assist in maintaining the Quality Management System to accreditation ISO9001 & 45001 by performing internal audits and process improvements.
Proactively manage workloads that could be presented through various channels, ensuring these are closed within set deadlines.
Liaise and communicate with other departments to ensure an effective interface is maintained.
Support the completion of Health and Safety activities assigned to the department.
Provide peer training support where training needs may be identified.
And perform any ad-hoc duties as required from time to time by the Quality Engineer.
