At Children First, Scotland's national children's charity, we stand up for children, keep them safe, and support families to thrive. We are now looking for a warm, enthusiastic and creative Sessional Youth Worker to join our team in Dalkeith, Midlothian.

The Role

This post will predominantly support the Women's Supper, a women-only space hosted at Women's Aid. In line with the nature of the service, applications are restricted to female workers only. There may also be some additional hours supporting our activity program in the school holidays.

You will:

* Support children, young people and families in a group setting.

* Help deliver fun, play-based activities for children aged birth to 12.

* Work alongside an experienced, supportive team to create safe and positive experiences for families.

* Be flexible and willing to travel as part of the role.

What We're Looking For

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

* Experience of working with children or young people in a community setting (desirable).

* An understanding of how to build trusting, supportive relationships with children and families.

* Creativity, adaptability and energy to make sessions engaging and inclusive.

* A caring, relational approach and the ability to work well as part of a team.

What You Can Expect from Us

* Hours: 3 hours on Thursday evenings (4–6.30pm, plus 30 mins travel). Additional 4–6 hours during school holidays, depending on activities.

* Pay: £14.12/ per hour
