As a Debt Recovery Lead, you’ll play a key role in supporting our Care Services business, which operates over 120 care homes across England and Wales. You’ll help us recover outstanding debts in a way that’s fair, empathetic and effective – making sure we can continue to deliver high-quality care to those who need it most. How you will help us make health happen In this role, you’ll: Lead and support debt recovery efforts across Bupa’s Care Services business. Develop and recommend strategies for effective debt resolution. Communicate with customers, relatives, and legal representatives – including those with Power of Attorney – to agree on solutions. Assess cases before litigation, gather evidence, and draft legal documents such as Letters Before Action. Liaise with external counsel and stakeholders to ensure timely progression of cases. Collaborate with Bupa’s in-house legal team when needed. Track and manage case progress, ensuring oversight and transparency. Work closely with operational teams to support decision-making. Produce reports for stakeholders on case status and outcomes. Help design standardised documents and processes to improve debt recovery. Key Skills and Qualifications needed for this role We’re looking for someone who’s: Organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage sensitive matters with discretion. A strong communicator with excellent negotiation skills. Empathetic and professional when speaking with customers and families about difficult topics. Able to balance business needs with individual circumstances to find fair solutions. Self-motivated and passionate about achieving positive outcomes. Experienced in debt recovery (essential). Familiar with legal and litigation processes related to debt (desirable).
