Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer - Materials & Corrosion
Location: Qatar
Qualification
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering.
* Chartered or Professional Engineer status preferred.
Experience & Skills
* Strong knowledge of materials and corrosion engineering standards and codes.
* Proven ability to manage time, cost, and quality across multiple engineering projects.
* Fluent in English with strong verbal and written communication skills, including presentations.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead Materials & Corrosion Engineering activities across all project phases: concept, studies, FEED, detailed design, and commissioning.
* Ensure compliance with technical standards, QHSE requirements, environmental regulations, and corporate assurance practices.
* Review technical deviations and variations from approved codes, standards, and practices.
* Support the review, update, and application of corporate and amended engineering standards.
* Plan and coordinate engineering activities for multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely delivery.
* Coordinate and review multidisciplinary work scopes, ensuring clarity and completeness.
* Review and approve method statements from contractors; liaise to resolve technical issues.
* Develop, update, and monitor in-house engineering schedules and contribute to external project scheduling.
* Evaluate technical bid packages and review contract changes/variations for compliance.
* Support the development of technical competency in self and colleagues, including training of junior engineers.
