Overview
Join HC-One as a Kitchen Assistant in Wiltshire, England. You’ll value kindness and support Residents in our Dementia, Nursing, Residential, and Specialist care homes by delivering meals and maintaining a safe, clean kitchen environment. Responsibilities
* Assist with meal preparation under the direction of the Chef or Cook
* Serve meals with warmth and respect in a timely and friendly manner
* Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, including equipment and surfaces
* Monitor and record food storage temperatures (fridges, freezers, etc.)
* Support stock rotation and proper storage of ingredients
* Show new team members how to safely use kitchen equipment
* Wash up and keep the kitchen spotless, even after busy periods
All duties reflect care for Residents, keeping their comfort and dignity front of mind.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Some kitchen experience and a real passion for helping others
* NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation or a willingness to work towards it
* Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to follow recipes and record information accurately
* Patience, respect, and genuine kindness in interactions with Residents and co-workers
* Safeguarding awareness; ability to recognise signs of abuse, harm or neglect and to report concerns; safeguarding training appropriate to the role
* Ability to seek appropriate advice and escalate action if required
* Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available; time-limited visas not accepted)
