A proficient laboratory assistant working within the laboratory production environment, contributing towards the day to day delivery of analytical outputs. Operating within a tightly regulated Quality System, whilst satisfying the requirements of customers and regulators undertaking sample preparation and straightforward analytical techniques. Accountabilities & Responsibilities Undertaking sample preparation prior to analysis and contributing to straightforward analytical techniques and analysis. In Sample Reception receives registers and distributes samples to analytical teams and undertakes some simple preparation and scheduling activities Working across a variety of teams (Analytical and Sample Reception) Working to a defined Quality system whilst adhering to tight deadlines with varying sample volumes and complying with the needs of the customer and changing regulatory standards Operating within a team environment and supporting activities according to best practice procedures as detailed in the Quality System. Assist in the maintenance of equipment used to undertake preparation and straightforward analysis tasks. Maintenance of own knowledge in line with best practice and changing regulatory standards including Continuing Professional Development. Straightforward technical activities to facilitate learning and development. Technical Skills & Experience Previous laboratory experience would be advantageous with a basic understanding of ISO 17025, ISO 5667- part 3 and all other related regulatory requirements. Technical Adept with IT systems, tools and databases including Nautilus, TAPS, Word, and Excel. Good communication skills and planning and organisations skills. Self-motivated to deliver a highly flexible sample preparation and analytical service within a changing environment including flexibility in working hours/practices. This role may not be eligible for visa sponsorship Qualifications Essential Qualifications Knowledge and Skills 5 GCSEs (A-C in Maths, English and Science/technology subject) Additional Information This role operates on a full-time basis from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with Saturday shifts required on a rotational schedule.
