Job Advert Location Description
The role is primarily concerned supporting our residents to live their life, practising skills they learn in the home, out in the community. This can include practising meals/snacks in cafes, walks in the local area, joining groups, going for drives or indeed being part of various activities that help the residents practice life in the community.
Support workers also play a key role in supporting residents before, during and after meal times, which can be an understandably difficult time for those that live with eating disorders.
There are a number of supportive spaces provided for our colleagues every week, including daily debriefs after shift, group supervision and a clinical reflections group. You will also have your own supervisor allocated who will provide an individual space.
Shift times are:
Early shift: 7.30-15:30
Late shift: 14.30-22.30.
Long Day: 7.30-22.30
Waking Nights: 22.00-08.00
Please note that part-time roles are also available.
Job Advert Role Description
Althea Park House is a 7-bed specialist residential service providing medium to long-term support and treatment for young people and young adults (aged 16+) suffering from eating disorders and other associated complex mental health difficulties.
We also have The Anchor, a 3-bedded semi-independent step-down home (18+) on the Althea Park House site.
This role offers an opportunity to build longer-term, meaningful therapeutic relationships and use them to support people to effect change. We are fortunate to be able to do this in warm, homely environments, within the beautiful Stroud Valleys, Gloucestershire.
Our therapeutic model focuses on supporting residents to build a life outside of their eating disorder or mental illness. We work hard to support those in our care to build resilience, a sense of self, and the ability to connect with the world around them.
Experience working within Eating Disorders is ideal but not required. We are keen to recruit the right person above all.
