Job Summary
The Humber Diabetic Eye Screening Programme is seeking a Senior Grader to join our grading team. The successful candidate will grade patient retinal images, support clinic operations, conduct ongoing Test & Train assessments, and stay current with pathway changes and national guidance. Attention to detail and strict adherence to information governance procedures are essential.
Key Responsibilities
* Grade patient retinal images accurately and under pressure.
* Provide support to the screening clinic as required.
* Participate in and lead ongoing Test and Train assessments.
* Keep updated with latest pathway changes and national guidance.
* Observe, assess, and approve Health Screener Diploma coursework for retinal screeners and graders.
* Lead and manage the assessment process continuously.
* Support and give feedback to retinal screeners within the team.
* Adapt to potential weekend work as part of service transformation.
Qualifications and Experience
* Experience working towards or as a Screener‑Grader role.
* Completed City & Guilds/ NHS Screener qualification.
* Experience within a Retinal Screening Programme as a Retinal Screener.
* Strong interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills.
* Ability to prioritise workload, prioritise deadlines and work flexibly under pressure.
* Manual driving licence (full, current) and willingness to undertake a trust driving assessment.
* Ability to liaise with patients in a friendly manner and care for those with mobility or health issues.
Additional Information
Weekend work may be required due to ongoing service transformations.
