We are seeking a highly skilled Senior IT Infrastructure Administrator to join our IT Wintel Support team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible not only for managing and maintaining our infrastructure to ensure smooth operations, but also for providing leadership and guidance within the team. You will act as an escalation point, oversee task management, and support the wider leadership group in delivering infrastructure technology change. Your expertise will help shape the colleague experience by enabling seamless and reliable technology for day-to-day business needs.
About the role
* Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Wintel technicians. Drive a culture of continuous improvement, technical excellence, and risk awareness. Manage performance, and development planning.
* Ensure systems are managed to the satisfaction of the business, managing incidents and service requests within SLA, reviewing breached calls and providing support out of hours.
* Escalation point for the Wintel Support team. Assist with technical and process escalations.
* Ensure hardware and software is kept within supported levels.
* Support the strategy and follow industry best practice, wherever possible.
* Identify opportunities for improvement in services and create appropriate utilities to manage the environment.
* Support managed Disaster Recovery tests and develop or maintain procedures to ensure that systems can be recovered in the event of a disaster.
About you
* Proven background in IT Support at 2nd line supporting Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI).
* Strong working knowledge of all Microsoft technologies.
* Strong working knowledge of End user computing.
* Strong understanding of VC technologies.
* Good understanding of the automation of systems and processes.
* Industry knowledge and awareness of the direction of new technologies.
* Staff management experience, including performance management and development planning.
* Task managing support staff daily and supporting the Leadership team in delivering Infrastructure Technology change.
