Area Sales Manager
Location: West Yorkshire (office and field based)
Salary: £36,000–£50,000 + discretionary commission + car/allowance

About the Company
Trading for over 40 years, an established supplier of industrial ball valves, actuation solutions, and pressure,retaining components, working directly with a long term manufacturing partner in Taiwan. Turnover is c£3m with an ambitious 25% growth target. Offices being newly refurbished, hands on down to earth culture, and a reputation built on problem solving and long standing client relationships including blue chip clients across FMCG, energy, water, industrial and infrastructure sectors.
The Role
A proactive, technically minded sales role focused on generating new business while supporting key accounts. You’ll work closely with designers, engineers, OEMs, and end users, providing solution based advice on valves and actuation systems. The business wants someone who will open doors, build relationships, and help drive growth across multiple industrial sectors. Strong autonomy and freedom to shape your territory.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop new business across Yorkshire, Humberside and Lincolnshire.
* Specify and supply ball valves, actuation, and associated components.
* Provide technical, consultative sales and site-based discussions.
* Conduct joint visits with the Sales Director and technical team.
* Maintain a strong outbound pipeline and deliver proactive activity.
* Work closely with internal customer service advisors, admin support and technicians; contribute to daily communication and toolbox talks.
Candidate Profile
* Engineering background or technical/industrial sales experience.
* Enthusiastic, commercially aware, and confident discussing engineering solutions.
* Comfortable with site visits and engaging at all levels.
* Proactive, curious, and able to ask the right questions.
* Full UK driving licence; industrial sector knowledge helpful but not essential.
