Consultant in Renal Medicine – NHS Scotland (NHS Tayside)
The Renal Service for Tayside is based in Dundee and is currently delivered by a team of ten consultants. We are looking to appoint an innovative, forward‑thinking colleague to join the team to cover the clinical service. The Renal Service covers Angus, Tayside, Perth and Kinross and part of North East Fife. This post is based at Ninewells Hospital and will contribute to expanding the general nephrology and advanced kidney care outpatient clinics in Perth, as well as supporting a new transplant follow‑up clinic in that area.
Tayside is situated on the north bank of the River Tay. The main centres of population in the area are the cities of Dundee and Perth with the county towns of Arbroath, Brechin, Forfar, Montrose in the county of Angus and Aberfeldy, Blairgowrie, Crieff and Pitlochry in Perthshire.
NHS Tayside is responsible for delivering healthcare to around 450,000 people living in Tayside and North East Fife. NHS Tayside’s principal health organisations are Tayside NHS Board, the Single Delivery Unit and three Health and Social Care Partnerships in Angus, Dundee and Perth & Kinross. NHS Tayside Operational structure is subdivided in 8 Clinical Care Groups (CCG) and Renal Medicine comes within CCG‑6 along with Haematology, Neurosciences, Oncology, Pathology and Genetics.

Qualifications and Experience
Candidates should possess MRCP and must be on the Specialist Register or be within 6 months of the anticipated award of CCT or CESR (CP) at the date of interview for the post. We would welcome applications from both established and newly qualified consultants.
