Specialist Upper Gastrointestinal (UGI) Dietitian
We are delighted to advertise for a permanent Band 6 UGI Dietetic post working as a member of the Greater Manchester Oesophago-gastric Multi-Disciplinary Team, based at GM OG surgical centre at Salford Care Organisation.
This role will be within the UGI services supporting both in and outpatients. You will work alongside the Greater Manchester Oesophago-gastric Multi-Disciplinary Team to provide holistic care and treatment planning for patients diagnosed with UGI cancer and benign UGI conditions. The role involves inpatient caseload on surgical wards, Critical Care units, MDT and Dietetic clinics, and off-site clinics across Greater Manchester.
Key responsibilities:
* Provide dietetic care for UGI cancer and benign disease patients in outpatient, inpatient, and critical care settings.
* Deliver oral nutritional support, enteral and parenteral nutrition management.
* Participate in MDT, dietetic clinics, and early cancer diagnostic pathways.
* Support research, service development, audit and quality improvement initiatives, including data collection and reporting.
* Maintain high quality, compassionate, and dynamic care within an established service.
Required qualifications and experience:
* Registered Dietitian with a valid HDC qualification.
* Experience treating patients in acute and outpatient settings, especially with UGI disease.
* Skills in enteral and parenteral nutrition, acute nutritional support decision-making.
* Strong communication, teamwork, and flexibility.
* Ability to work autonomously within a multidisciplinary team.
