Locum Consultant Neurologist (Maternity Cover)

Position: Fixed-term maternity cover for a Consultant Neurologist within the Regional Neurosciences Centre, serving North East London and Essex. The role is part of a well-established consultant team delivering tertiary care to a population of 2.5 million.
Clinical duties include providing a full range of neurological services – outpatient appointments, acute inpatient, and interventional care – using a team-based approach. The successful applicant will support service development, contribute to evolving models of care, and maintain good clinical governance. Responsibilities also cover teaching, supervision of junior medical staff, research and development, and participation in clinical governance activities.
Main duties
* Deliver comprehensive clinical neurology services in outpatient, inpatient, and interventional settings.
* Maintain high standards of clinical governance within practice and the department.
* Supervise and mentor junior medical staff.
* Participate in research, development, and educational activities.
* Contribute to service development and achieve RTT targets.
Qualifications & Experience
* Full registration with the General Medical Council.
* Entry on the GMC Specialist Register, or eligibility for inclusion within six months of interview via CCT, CESR or European Community Rights.
* MRCP (UK) or equivalent.
* Peer-reviewed publications and presentations at international meetings.
