Hours: Part time (20-25hrs per week)

Contract Type: Permanent
To provide effective administrative and financial support to the finance function, of the Employment, Skills & Adult Learning Service including supporting budget monitoring processes, processing orders, and invoices, administering charging systems, and accurately recording and collating financial data from corporate systems.
To assist in the maintenance and administration of online systems relating to grant contracts, ensuring data is accurate, up to date, and compliant with relevant procedures, and to support associated administrative tasks

The Opportunity
In the role of Finance Assistant, here’s an example of what you’ll be doing to make an impact:
• Support the monitoring and administration of service budgets, including processing orders, invoices, and financial transactions within the Employment, Skills, and Adult Learning Service.
• Raise purchase orders and ensure the timely progression, receipt, and reconciliation of goods and services.
• Respond promptly and effectively to queries from suppliers and internal stakeholders, resolving issues to minimise payment delays.
• Investigate and resolve queries relating to orders, invoices, and payments, ensuring accurate record-keeping and audit compliance.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial and administrative records, including filing systems and electronic databases.
• Assist in the maintenance and use of financial and grant monitoring systems, ensuring data integrity and compliance with relevant processes.
• Prepare and process invoices, internal journals, and other financial adjustments accurately and in accordance with financial procedures.
• Liaise with service colleagues to support the financial administration of projects Youth Guarantee), including processing expenditure, payments, and funding allocations.
