SEN & 1:1 Teaching Assistants Needed

Primary Schools and Alternative Provisions | Mid Cornwall (Bodmin – St Austell – Truro – Redruth – Falmouth)

Flexible Work | Full‑Time & Part‑Time Opportunities Available

Daily Pay rates of £14.25 p/h

Do you thrive when working 1:1 with a child who needs consistency, patience and understanding?
Are you calm under pressure, resilient with behaviour, and passionate about helping pupils succeed despite additional challenges?

Teaching Personnel are urgently expanding our SEN & 1:1 Support Team to meet growing demand across primary schools and Alternative Provisions in Mid Cornwall. This is our highest‑need area, with consistent, ongoing bookings for the right people.

-----------------------------------

Why SEN Support Is So In Demand

Primary schools and Alternative Provisions are increasingly seeking specialist support due to:

* Rising EHCPs and SEND diagnoses
* Pupils with complex needs remaining in mainstream settings
* Children requiring dedicated 1:1 support to access learning
* Gaps when permanent SEN TAs leave mid‑year

Schools are not looking for “general classroom support”, they are looking for reliable, emotionally intelligent adults who can form strong, trusting relationships.

-----------------------------------

About the Role

You may be supporting pupils with needs such as:

* Autism (ASC)
* SEMH and regulation challenges
* Speech, language and communication needs
* Learning and cognitive difficulties

Your role could include:

* Providing 1:1 or small‑group SEN support
* Supporting emotional regulation, routines and transitions
* Adapting activities so pupils can access learning
* Encouraging independence, confidence and engagement
* Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and support staff
* Maintaining a calm, consistent and nurturing environment

Some days will be challenging — but the impact you make is huge.

-----------------------------------

Who We’re Actively Looking For

This role is ideal for people with experience in:

* SEN Teaching Assistant roles (Level 2 / Level 3)
* Support work or care settings
* Youth work, mentoring or behaviour support

You’ll succeed in this role if you are:

* Calm, patient and emotionally resilient
* Confident supporting behaviour and regulation
* Comfortable working 1:1 for extended periods
* Reliable, consistent and professional
* Genuinely motivated by helping children overcome barriers

Experience matters but mindset matters much more.

-----------------------------------

Why Work With Teaching Personnel?

We know SEN work is demanding, so we support our educators properly.

* Competitive weekly pay
* Flexible working to suit your life
* Long‑term opportunities with consistent schools
* A dedicated local consultant (me!)
* Free CPD: SEN strategies, behaviour, safeguarding & more
* Clear communication, honest expectations and ongoing check‑ins

We don’t just place you, we build long‑term relationships.

-----------------------------------
