The starting salary for this role will usually be at the bottom of the salary range and will be pro-rata if the working hours are less than full time.

The Role & Key Responsibilities
* Design, develop, and deliver training programmes for Public and Personal Safety Training following the College of Policing and National Police Chief’s Council standards.
* Deliver initial training for new Police Officers and Staff, refresher training, and First Aid training as per ATACC guidelines.
* Facilitate the Job Related Fitness Test for Officers and Specialist Roles.
* Monitor learning delivery to ensure desired knowledge, skills, and behaviors; identify and influence behavioral adjustments.
* Support learning and assessment activities, produce lesson plans aligned with standards, and update them regularly.
* Address learner issues, identify causes, and implement solutions in accordance with force policy.
* Maintain relevant documentation on Force systems.
* Supervise and challenge inappropriate behavior in training environments professionally.
* Build effective networks with internal and external partners for collaborative learning and development.
* Maintain and update professional knowledge to deliver diverse training topics effectively.
* Perform other duties as directed by the Team leader within the pay grade.
Skills & Experience
* Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to develop and influence learners.
* Strong presentation skills for facilitating workshops.
* Understanding of diversity concepts and embedding this in training programs.
* Clear, concise, and accurate written communication skills.
* Motivated, able to work independently, proficient in Microsoft Office, and accurate in keyboard skills.
* Operational policing background with good knowledge of law and procedures.
* Ability to pass and maintain a role-related fitness test.
* Up-to-date knowledge of Public and Personal Safety Training.
* Willingness to evaluate and recommend specialist equipment and provide expert advice.
* Assist in monitoring equipment to ensure its effectiveness and safety.
Additional Requirements
* Willing to work weekends (1 in 4) with appropriate pay.
* Maintain fitness standards annually.
* Keep professional development records up to date.
* Occasional travel across Surrey & Sussex (expenses reimbursed).
* Willingness to undertake relevant specialist courses as needed.
