The role
As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be at the heart of our mission to deliver excellence in engineering and infrastructure. You’ll support the Infrastructure Directorate and its supply chain by ensuring compliance with quality standards, driving continuous improvement, and helping to maintain the highest levels of safety and performance. Day-to-day you’ll be:
1. Supporting the Infrastructure Compliance team to deliver quality assurance across engineering disciplines
2. Attending technical and organisational meetings, offering expert advice on safety and compliance
3. Ensuring all tasks meet Babcock’s cost, time, and quality standards
4. Implementing safety, quality, and environmental policies to promote safe working practices
5. Participating in corporate audits and driving corrective and preventive actions
This role is full time, 36 hours per week and is based on site at HMNB Clyde Faslane.
Essential experience of the Quality Assurance Engineer
6. Strong background in Quality Assurance within an engineering environment
7. Experience leading or supporting internal and external quality audits
8. Knowledge of Quality Management Systems, tools, and techniques
9. Familiarity with risk management, procurement, and regulatory compliance
10. Skilled in root cause analysis and product investigation techniques
Qualifications for the Quality Assurance Engineer
11. ISO certification
12. HNC in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent
13. Lead Auditor training – Desirable
14. CQI Level 3 Certificate or Chartered Member of CQI – Desirable
15. Train the Trainer certification – Desirable
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
