Look no further! We have a fantastic opportunity for a Social Worker to join our Emergency Duty team here at Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council.
The Children’s Services Department within Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council provides an out of hours Emergency Duty Social Work Service, covering evenings, weekends and bank holidays, to all five Tees Valley Local Authorities. This is an exciting opportunity to expand your knowledge and experience as this service is generic across both Adults and Children and includes Mental Health Act work.
Responsibilities
* Responding to emergency safeguarding concerns and carrying out urgent assessments out of hours.
* Managing risk and coordinating with key agencies such as Health, Police and Education.
* Designing and arranging short-term care plans to meet immediate needs.
* Completing accurate records and ensuring effective information handover.
To be considered, you must
* Hold a relevant professional qualification in social work
* Be registered with SW England
* Demonstrate substantial and contemporary post qualifying experience in childcare/ child protection work, adults/ safeguarding adults or hold an Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) status under Mental health legislation.
* Have a proven track record of success.
* Be able to effectively communicate in a multi-agency environment.
* Have the ability to risk manage complex situations.
* A working knowledge of an out of hour’s service would be preferable.
If coming from a children or adults background you must be willing to undertake training for your AMHP status.
In addition, you will need drive and enthusiasm to work in this strategically important service at a time of increasing demands, challenges, and service developments.
You must be available to work on a rota basis across 7 days including overnight and high-demand times.
