We are currently recruiting a people-centric, engaging HR Partner to join our fantastic depot team in Reading. This role reports into the Regional HR Business Partner and forms a key part of both the site Leadership Team and South HR team.
The role:
Our site-based HR colleagues are critical to our business, acting as a key hub of expertise, guidance, and coaching for their stakeholders. As an HR Partner, you’ll be responsible for providing an effective day-to-day HR service as well as developing and embedding people initiatives aligned with our growth strategy and site needs. You will bring expertise to ensure employee relations are effectively managed through coaching line managers, using data to identify trends and address issues.
This is a site-based role in Reading, with the option to work from home 1 day a week. Flexibility with working hours may be required due to the 24/7 operation, but generally, you will work standard office hours.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
1. Partner the General Manager in developing and delivering the People Plan for the site.
2. Coach site leaders on leading their teams to deliver success and embody our culture and values.
3. Provide robust debate on people matters to ensure business decisions are made with colleagues and customers in mind.
4. Ensure managers receive relevant training, coaching, and support to manage their teams effectively.
5. Use ER data to identify trends and propose solutions.
6. Support line managers in complex ER cases, ensuring consistency.
7. Manage colleague retention and absence by analyzing data to reduce attrition.
8. Support change initiatives, ensuring proper implementation.
9. Ensure a consistent onboarding experience for new colleagues and managers.
10. Drive engagement on site through Employee Communication Forums, listening groups, and Sysco Speaks action plans.
11. Assist HR Admin with weekly payroll submissions.
12. Support performance management and team development through continuous practices.
You:
You should have current knowledge of employment law and legislation to manage complex ER cases effectively. Attention to detail, accuracy, and strong analytical skills are essential, along with experience in change facilitation and understanding change management challenges.
You’ll be CIPD qualified (level 5), working towards this, or qualified by experience and ready to pursue your qualification.
We seek someone comfortable in a fast-paced environment, capable of positively influencing and building strong relationships with the management team and stakeholders.
