This 1:1 Teaching Assistant role involves providing dedicated support to a children with special educational needs (SEN), such as Autism or ADHD, helping them to access the curriculum and thrive in a classroom setting.
About the Role for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant in Worksop:
As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant in Worksop, you will be an integral part of the school's support system. Your key responsibilities will include:
Providing dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with additional needs.
Assisting with the implementation of tailored learning activities.
Supporting the child's social and emotional development.
Helping to manage behaviour and encourage positive engagement.
Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor progress.
What We're Looking For in a 1:1 Teaching Assistant:
Previous experience supporting children, ideally in a 1:1 capacity.
A patient, proactive, and positive 'can-do' attitude.
Understanding of SEN, such as Autism, ADHD, or Dyspraxia.
An enhanced DBS certificate, or willingness to obtain one.
Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ/CACHE in Supporting Teaching and Learning) are desirable.
