Berelands House is looking to recruit a Bank Healthcare Assistant to join the team. This is a bank role.
Berelands House Care Home is located in the town of Prestwick, South Ayrshire, Scotland. Our home offers specialist nursing and dementia support for 63 adults, with 24-hour input from registered nurses. We can also offer end of life/palliative care and respite services.
We aim to provide residents with a secure, relaxed, and homely environment in which their care, wellbeing and comfort are of prime importance. Staff strive to preserve and maintain the dignity, individuality and privacy of all residents within a warm and caring environment, and in so doing will be sensitive to the resident’s ever-changing needs.
In addition to supporting adults with dementia, we can also assist those who have a multitude of other conditions, presentations and needs.
What you'll be doing
You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our residents. wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. As Bank Healthcare Assistant, you will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of residents.
* Assists qualified staff and senior cares with the implementation of individual resident care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed to facilitate the wellbeing, dignity and treatment of all residents. You will also need to participate in the sharing of information within the team through handovers, team meetings and documentation.
* Provides practical, compassionate and person centred care to all residents we support, including but not limited to providing assistance with intimate personal needs such as dressing, bathing and toileting activities ensuring that such activities comply with procedures and the relevant healthcare legislation.
* Gathering information will be required occasionally to make judgement decisions. Well developed observational and listening skills are essential for monitoring the mental, emotional and physical wellbeing of residents. Good Written Communication and completion of documentation is vital.

Desirable
* Diploma/S/NVQ2 in Health and Social Care
* Knowledge and understanding of the needs of older people
Essential
* Basic numeracy skills
* Basic literacy skills
* Willingness to work towards an Diploma/SVQ 2 in Health and Social Care Desirable
Experience is not essential, as training will be provided.
