Drainage Engineer

Salary: £32,000 - £34,000 basic + commission
Typical earnings: £38,000 - £45,000 depending on overtime and completed work
TasksGrid are recruiting an experienced Drainage Engineer to join our growing team working across Yorkshire and surrounding areas.
We are looking for a practical, reliable engineer who takes pride in their work, delivers excellent service to customers, and can confidently diagnose and resolve drainage issues in both domestic and commercial environments.
TasksGrid generate work through multiple platforms and partnerships, providing engineers with a consistent flow of drainage jobs across Yorkshire.
This is a field-based role covering reactive drainage work, surveys, repairs, and occasional excavation work. The role also includes participation in an on-call rota for emergency call-outs.
Engineers who are organised, professional with customers, and confident working independently will thrive in this role.
What you'll be doing
* Attending drainage call-outs for blocked drains, sinks and toilets
* Carrying out CCTV drainage surveys
* Using high pressure water jetting equipment
* Diagnosing drainage issues and recommending solutions
* Completing small repairs and patch lining
* Carrying out minor excavation and digging works where required
* Providing clear explanations and advice to customers
* Taking customer payments on site when required
* Recording job details accurately using internal systems
* Representing the company professionally when dealing with customers
What we're looking for
Essential:
* Experience working in drainage (internal and external work)
* Full UK driving licence
* Strong problem-solving ability
* Good customer communication skills
* Comfortable working independently in the field
* Physically fit and capable of manual work when required
Preferred but not essential:
* HPJW certification
* Experience with CCTV drainage cameras
* Experience carrying out minor excavation or repair work
* Asbestos awareness
