This is a fantastic opportunity to start a career in the commercial vehicle industry, gaining hands-on experience while working towards a recognised qualification in heavy vehicle maintenance and repair As a Heavy Vehicle Apprentice, you will support the day-to-day running of a busy workshop, learning practical skills in the servicing, repair, diagnostics, and maintenance of heavy vehicles such as trucks, buses, trailers, and commercial fleet vehicles. You will work alongside experienced technicians who will guide and support you throughout your apprenticeship, helping you develop the knowledge and confidence needed to become a qualified heavy vehicle technician\n\nKey Responsibilities\nâ¢\tAssisting with routine servicing and maintenance of heavy vehicles and trailers \nâ¢\tSupporting technicians with diagnostics, repairs, and fault finding \nâ¢\tCarrying out basic checks including oil, tyre, brake, steering, suspension, and fluid inspections \nâ¢\tLearning to use workshop tools, lifting equipment, and diagnostic systems safely and effectively \nâ¢\tMaintaining a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment \nâ¢\tAssisting with vehicle inspections, MOT preparations, and quality checks \nâ¢\tDeveloping knowledge of heavy vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, braking systems, and electrical components \nâ¢\tFollowing health and safety procedures and industry regulations at all times â¢\tA strong interest in commercial vehicles, mechanics, and the automotive industry \nâ¢\tWillingness to learn and develop new technical skills \nâ¢\tGood teamwork and communication skills \nâ¢\tBasic numeracy and IT skills \nâ¢\tReliable, punctual, and a positive attitude \nâ¢\tAbility to follow instructions and work safely in a workshop environment \nâ¢\tNo prior experience required â full training will be provided
