This is a wonderful opportunity to join my client, an innovative, industry-leading Multidisciplinary Consultancy, known for their expertise within the ecological, planning and design, and arboricultural landscapes. They are currently searching for an experienced, capable Ecologist with a keen interest in Botany, willing to take on a variety of challenging projects alongside a growing team of professionals, based near the green, industrial city of Wolverhampton.

Responsibilities for the role of Ecologist include:
8. Conducting field surveys, effectively managing your time and schedule
9. Undertaking Preliminary Ecological Appraisals (PEA), in accordance with relevant procedures and guidance
10. Contributing to a range of diverse projects
11. Coordinating Ecological Surveys, analysing and interpreting data, and using it to inform further aspects of your projects
12. Applying your knowledge of Protected Species Mitigation throughout the course of your projects
13. Engaging with your team and the wider company, maintaining the highest of standards throughout your work
14. Effectively managing your time and resources, across several multifaceted projects
Required skills and experience for the role of Ecologist include:
15. A Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Ecology or Environmental Management (or similar, relevant discipline)
16. Experience of consulting surveys, curating data to author reports
17. Hold a full, valid UK Driving Licence, with a willingness to travel for work, as and when required
18. Excellent working knowledge of ecology, surveying techniques, and relevant legislation and procedures
19. Good understanding of Protected Species Surveys, and the development of Mitigation Strategies
20. Hold at least one Protected Species Licence (or be proactively working toward attaining this)
21. Demonstrate a good understanding of botany, including Survey Identification Skills
22. Have a good working knowledge of Planning Policy, including the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF), in relation to development projects
23. Show a keen interest in Botany
Desirable skills and experience for the role of Ecologist include:
24. Hold several Protected Species Survey Licences
25. Demonstrable prior experience within an ecological consultancy (or Local Authority) setting
26. Experience with having produced technical reports, including Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), Habitat Regulations Assessments (HRA), and Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) Assessments
